Rainy Day

I suppose you surmised by the title that it is raining. We’ve had quite a bit of it and it is supposed to continue through the weekend.  I know many people who find that rainy days are depressive and glum.  … Continue reading

A Brand New Day

Some days you wake up and you feel like a huge weight has lifted from your shoulders.  That’s my today. I woke up, realized aside from my housework and a few other things I needed to get done today was going to be a nearly stress free day! The first half of the week was all about getting a routine for the first week of school into place.  Wake up, get work done, wake up the nerdlings, get them ready for school and take them to school.  It is a new form of chaos because this is our first year of having 3 nerdlings in 3 different schools. I think, we might actually be getting this down to a smooth method.
However,  I find myself thankful for the school year having started.  This means I have a little bit of time to myself and time to frequent my favorite, very local coffee shop, The Brass Bean. I miss it here during the summer. I love to bring a book or laptop and work or read while enjoying their delicious coffee and wonderful atmosphere.  So if you live in the area make sure to go check them out.  I love my breakfast bagel with cream cheese and refillable cup of coffee, or their chicken salad sandwich is also amazing for lunchtime! I’ve always had good experiences here, quick and friendly service and good food and coffee, what more could a Nerd’s Wife ask for? Aside from the winning lottery numbers…

OH! I also found this mug this morning, that I totally feel applies to my mood this morning. It definitely made me smile when I read it.

I think I might just add it to my collection!   Don’t Let the Muggles Get You Down

Ok, I am off to be productive, ya’ll have a great day!

Coconut Bars

Yep, it’s that time of year again.  A time when parents get to enjoy the mixed emotions that come with sending their kids back to school. Let me tell you, this year is a doozy.  1st, 6th and 8th grade. … Continue reading

Faux Caprese Salad and Coconut Creamsicle

I may be a Nerd and a Nerd’s wife, but that doesn’t mean I can’t be a healthy Nerd.  I try to eat healthy.  I try to be on a running schedule. I feel happier when I am successful.  Lately … Continue reading

Nerd Dearest Takes a Day Off. No seriously, he actually did. A couple of weeks ago he said that he was going to take this Wednesday (yesterday) off of work so we could spend time as a family.  The month … Continue reading
