I have been married to my Nerd for 13 years. We’ve had our ups and downs like any other couple, but we’ve always come out on top. We have 3 mini Nerds ages 11,9 and 4. Needless to say they are being taught well in the way of Nerdiness.
While I find that I am coming in to Nerdiness by my own right, it has not always been so. When my Nerd and I first wed I had lived a very sheltered life. Most of the movies I had seen were either in the Chick flick or Disney genre. “Star Wars? What’s that?” Seriously. I kid you not. I was completely oblivious.
I did however have minimal exposure to my friend’s Nintendo. So “Mario? Heck yeah!” I loved that game. But beyond that? No way!
In 2001 my story changed, I put away my old life and rose from the ashes as a Nerd’s Wife….
I can’t guarantee that It’s always going to be nerdy but I can promise it’s not dull. So, feel free to follow me on Instagram: Here
Definition: Nerd Kingdom is any place where nerds congregate.
(Example: Comic Con, Comic Book Store, Game Store…etc)
I love books, I love Anime, I love reading Manga, I love movies and I love video games.
I have always loved to read, but my variety of genres didn’t really expand until after I married my Nerd. Though I did read The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Silmarillion, and many other classics LONG before they came to being in movie format.
I used to play WoW and honestly I miss it like crazy! We had to drop our subscriptions due to lack of funds. Now I pretty much stick to The Sims 3.
Some of my favorite books are:
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (I honestly couldn’t decide between them!) J.R.R. Tolkien
A Game of Thrones series by George R.R. Martin
Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis
Parasol Protectorate series by Gaile Carriger
Poison Study series by Maria Snyder
Shadow World series by Dianne Sylva
Ender’s Saga by Orson Scott Card
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
The Time Traders by Andre Norton
The Half-Orcs series by David Dalglish
Forgotten Realms: The Dark Elf Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore
I absolutely, vehemently dislike the Twilight series…
Some of my favorite anime are:
Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
Vampire Hunter D
and I admit (begrudgingly) that I do rather enjoy Both Pokemon and Naruto…
Some of my favorite manga:
Did I mention I have an antique book addiction? It’s not very big but all pre-1900. I love books!
